One wet miserable morning back in April 2021, after unexpectedly losing my job a few months prior, I was applying for new roles and feeling deflated. I had suffered a few rejections from roles I had applied to, hoping to take my career in a new direction “what do I do with my life now?” crossed my mind.
It had been a few months since I had last been paid and the money was starting to run out. At this point I started to wonder how I could fund my lifestyle; my horse, my lessons, my saddlepad and wine addiction, which as we all know is not cheap! Having launched many discount schemes during my career as an Employee Benefits Specialist, I was aware of the huge savings that can be made and found myself wishing I had access to one.
That's when it struck me- no one needs to save money more than horsey people!!
I had a moment of realisation that I could use my previous experience of employee benefits, to create something new and exciting for the Equestrian world and in that moment, Live It Equestrian was born.
